Happy birthday, nerdo

Recently the wife of a friend set up a surprise party for his birthday. Where? Comic book shop. What kind of party? Magic the Gathering. I've never played Magic, and I certainly didn't there, but I drank some beer and hung out with other non-Magic playing friends. Aside from the booze and friends, my favorite thing was the food setup. Not being familiar with Magic, I probably don't know how clever the following cards are, but I do recognize how Magic cards are supposed to look. She had some friends make a small buffet based on, what I'm assuming, were some Magic-relevant recipes, or something. Either way, I had roughly 15 helpings of the Pumpkin Curry Soup. DELICIOUS.

The whole set up was adorable, and appropriate for them.

Seriously. I probably had half of the pot, if not more, of this stuff. I really need to make some... the woman who prepared it emailed me the recipe.
